Let's Talk: How Do We Support Captions in My Mediasite?
In 1998, the US government passed Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which requires all federal offices and those receiving federal funding to make information technology accessible to people with disabilities, including students at public universities. Captions are an essential piece of these requirements. NC State has established a Captioning Grant and a DIY process for creating captions. In this session, Serena discusses supporting faculty and staff to create captions in support of accommodations or proactively. She invites you to share the captioning challenges you're facing and any solutions or best practices you have developed as you support captioning with My Mediasite.
