Using Mediasite for Your Online Programs: Best Practices & Lessons Learned
In 2013, Villanova's use of Mediasite as their video platform for online programs expanded dramatically with the launch of several new online degree programs. They now use Mediasite in several modalities including recording lectures in professional studios, empowering off-campus faculty to record lectures with Mediasite Desktop Recorder and delivering video within their LMS. Naturally, explosion in use impacts Villanova's Mediasite management and support practices. Ankit shares specific best practices and lessons learned to:
- Make the recording and post-production processes more efficient
- Develop productive relationships with internal as well as vendor Instructional Design teams
- Deal with storage and streaming quality issues caused by increased viewership

This includes developing highly produced instructional multimedia, using classroom recording systems and supporting use of My Mediasite. The group also leads training for classroom technologies.
